WinMount can mount your FolderGrid Domain as a drive on your Microsoft Windows system using one of two options:

  1. Map as Network Share (Recommended if your workstation is not shared)
  2. Map as Standard Drive

Option #1 (Map As Network Share) alerts Microsoft Windows to the fact that your mapped drive content is remote and makes interacting with your content more efficient. This results in faster performance for some operations. However it is important to note that a drive mapped as a Network Share will be available to any user logged into the workstation. Any other users with the ability to login to your workstation while the drive is mounted will be able to interact with your content as you.

Option #2 (Map as Standard Drive) is slower that option #1 for some operations. However a drive mounted in this way will only be available to the currently logged-in Windows user.
